Program created by Jonathan Miller / Music Direction by Patrick Sinozich
Join us on a musical history tour of the Windy City! The journey features music from early French explorers, brave pioneers and first settlers, German and Irish immigrants, and the Great Migration, plus songs about the Chicago Fire, skyscrapers, and sports. Highlights include a stirring setting of Carl Sandburg’s “Prayers of Steel,” Chicago-style gospel and blues, and even a song written by Al Capone. Jonathan Miller provides narration and readings as the singers create a fascinating and sometimes funny musical portrait of our great city. Discover this “toddlin’ town” as you’ve never heard it before!
