Program created by Jonathan Miller / Music Direction by John William Trotter
The birth of American musical theater was created by brilliant Jewish composers such as George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, and Richard Rodgers. We’ll explore their influences and forebears, from European synagogue music to Yiddish vaudeville on Second Avenue, and sing some of the best-loved American Songbook standards that arose from these traditions.
