Parking
Free street parking is available on the streets surrounding the theater but is limited. There are also lots and garages in the area:
939 North Ave Garage (Enter on Sheffield Ave)
The garage is located on the corner of North Avenue and Sheffield Avenue. If you are approaching from I90 or I94, bear right onto Sheffield Avenue. If you are approaching from Lake Shore Drive, bear left onto Sheffield Avenue. The garage is the first entrance on the left side with the blue sign that says “PARKING.”

Enter this location at 1535 N. Kingsbury Ave., on the east side of Kingsbury between W. Weed St. and W. Blackhawk St. This lot is just a few doors north of iO Theater.
Blackhawk & Halsted Garage (SpotHero link)
1437 N. Dayton Street (about a 3-minute walk)
Enter this location at 1467 N Dayton St, on the east side of N Dayton St. between W Blackhawk St. and W Eastman St. This garage is located directly behind the British School of Chicago.
Although there is a Whole Foods garage just across the street from the theater, it is for customers only and NOT recommended for the theater.
Public Transit
iO is a five minute walk from the North/Clybourn CTA Red Line and just two minutes from the #72 North Avenue bus.
Accessibility
The entrance has a handicapped accessible entrance ramp, and the theater can be accessed from the first floor. Second-tier premium and general seating is fully accessible. The Premium seating area at the front requires three steps to access.
